Who We Are

Meet CEO & Founder
Randy Sims
SimsTECH was founded in 2024 when Randy saw a need for his skills and services in his community. In particular, he noticed that many small business and nonprofits were being overcharged and underserved by their current IT contractors, and he wanted to help.
After spending nearly two decades in the corporate and non-profit worlds, Randy decided to step out and form his own business to serve the needs of businesses in Southwest Michigan.
He’s confident that SimsTECH can help your organization thrive and grow as technology continues to advance into the future.

Our History
Randy Sims - the founder of SimsTECH - had a hunger for technology from an early age. He reprogrammed his 3rd grade teacher’s computer in 1994, sparking his interest in all things IT. This passion stuck with him, leading him to obtain his degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from Ferris State University in 2011.
After graduating, Randy worked as a business-to-business sales manager for Best Buy, a Fortune 500 tech company. Utilizing Best Buy’s vast resources, he was able to establish a multi-million dollar portfolio spanning the west coast of Michigan and Northern Indiana. His passion for people and technology resulted in him being highly sought-after to create custom solutions for small businesses in the area.
After Best Buy, Randy continued to gain experience in the IT field while working for Kellogg Company, and as manager of the data analytics department at the grocery retailer, SpartanNash.
In 2019, Randy stepped out in faith and moved into the nonprofit sector, becoming the IT Director of one of the largest churches in Southwest Michigan. His leadership and drive allowed him to be an immense asset to the organization during the 2020 global pandemic, when online streaming, efficient technology, and marketing on social media became pivotal to the success of small businesses and nonprofits. Over the next 4 years, Randy was able to help equip a third church location in downtown Kalamazoo, completely wiring and programming the acquired building from the ground up.
